- Verbos terminados em e acrescenta-se d Ex.:
invite – invited- Verbos terminados em y procedido de vogal – Acrescenta-se ed Ex.: play – played
- Verbos terminados em y procedido de consoante – Troca-se por y por i acrescenta-se ed Ex.: marry – married
